Got this in trade years ago

Was told it was a Lincoln Versailles rear but definitely questioning that. The axle plates don’t seem to match up with the pic I have.

Flange to flange is 60.25”

It came with a center section I am currently running in my original existing 9” housing.

Anyone have any hints?

Thx

The big Ford old style is correct for Versailles, but that housing is nothing like my Versailles one. It looks more like Econoline van vintage to me.

That's a 9" or 9 3/8" housing from a full size Ford/Merc/Lincoln or T-bird. They all used a three link coil spring suspension with a track bar. This style suspension was used from 65 through 79.

Are the 9 and 9 3/8 housings the same? Or do I need to measure somehow?

Since the housing is narrower than mine thinking about making it a full floater or having some really deep wheels made

Dunno

I have the axles, rotors and calipers. Axles are 28 spline so probably will go higher count.

Thanks all

This attachment will help with your 9" vs 9 3/8" carrier ("Housing") question.:
