Hello, more progress.I had to take the first two pipes I built and change the bottom halves of both of them to move them to the inside collector.Because I found out that I had no nice way of getting pipes 7 and 8 into the inside collector that I would be happy with. So after that I moved on to mocking up 7 and 8. I built 8 first since 7 depends on how I ran 8 ,#5 is 41'',6is 41 1/8'' and 8 is 40 15/16'',now we're getting somewhere,on to 7...........

Hi everyone,It's been a little while,I've been busy with the passenger side header. Just like the drivers side all for pipes are at 41 inches+/- a 1/16 or an 1/8''. Much more room on this side of course and I could see what I was building the whole length of each pipe. So this side isn't as compact as the other side because they don't have to be. I have plenty of room around a full size starter,so any mini I choose will fit without any problems. I did make the choice to run the pipes over each other where they go into the collector so I can still remove the bell without taking of the exhaust. I'm taking a short break to swap a 4 speed into my 76 F150,then I'll be back at the tail pipes and tunneling the rear floor.

Hey everyone,it's been a minute. I finished my stick conversion in my F150 about 2 weeks ago and it's a blast to drive now, glad I did it. So that means for 2 weeks I been working on the Mustang again. Here is where we are......I welded all the locking tabs on that bolt the header pipes and the collectors together. Then marked and cut out the floor on both sides for the exhaust. I'm figuring out the passenger side first. I cut up into the inner and outer rocker 2 1/2'' in total, that gives the pipes a very slight upward angle as the exit the car.I played with different ideas on how the ends would look, equal length, just didn't look right. Shotgun style I liked better, but I came back around the the staggered unequal pipes like on the Hinchcliff car which is where I lifted the idea in the first place. They just look right.I then started building pipes, each is 3 1/2'',the inside first then the outer pipe. I was thinking about a balance pipe between them, some cars have them some don't. I'm leaning toward not installing them. That would make service so much easier and any gains may be negligible,I can always build another set of pipes with in the future if I like. So next will be the actual floor tunnel and the hangers for the pipes. Also I took pics of the headers out of the car so ya'll can see what they actually look like.

Hi again, here's the passenger exhaust tunnel all installed. I just have to do some grinding of the welds on the outer rocker so it looks nice then it's done. The tunnel is 18 gauge that I formed by hand using mallets, pipes and brute force, and I get to do it again for the drivers side.

Exhaust.......Check.....Hi again, here it is finished. Just as the collectors the pipes are 3 1/2'' stainless. At the 45s they sweep up just a bit and exit out the rocker. I'm taking a short break then taking the doors off so I can fix and modify them. And I'm going to swap the spots of the Mustang and the AMX so I can drive it a bit while I fix the doors.

Soooooo.........here's some of the fun that I've been having.........fixing doors. Long story short, each door is now 21.2 pounds lighter. I removed the crashbars, the front and rear of the inside of the door leaving the mounting holes for a door panel and I left the center to hold the interior handle. But if it gets in the way of cage bars....it will also go away. I then removed the brace at the top of the door for the window stops and a few other braces inside the doors.I the cut away the edge that holds the window felts. No speed holes were drilled. Then I rebuilt both the corners of the passenger door and now I'm doing the rust repair on the drivers side. So no leaning on the doors......

That's rad and cool looking. Wow, that's a lot of work. Please post a video of its sound. Those make for very long primary pipe. I wonder what effect are they doing on power.

The amount of work, time and skill you put into this car is awesome. I wish I had half that much skill. Keep up the work, she will be well worth it!

Thanks. Long primaries make more torque down below.Ya'll will definitely get a video when I get it running.

Hi everyone.Slow but steady progress. Sitting on top of the mock up engine is a Bud Moore Mini Plenum, the intake that was used in 70 and 71 on the factory TA Mustangs and when Moore ran with no Ford support. Had Ford build the 71 Mustangs for TA,this is the intake that they would have had. So now I will now never have to look at Boss 302 intakes for sale ever again. I also installed the pins that hold down the trunk lid. I pirated the mounts and location directly from the Ed Hinchcliff Mustang. And we also have the fixed drivers door. I'll get the fit better after I rebuild or replace the hinges on both doors. Next up is filling in the rear side marker light holes and figuring if I want to completely shave off the stock gas filler bump and have a smooth tail light panel or just fill in the holes.
